On February 23, 2019 a group of UNG students led by Dr. Viman-Miller represented UNG at the 5th Annual International Diplomacy Conference – Korean Peninsula Nuclear Security Simulation Conference organized by the Georgia Institute of Technology and Daisy Alliance. We joined students from University of Kentucky, Kennesaw State University, Spellman College and Georgia Tech for a one-day simulation and debate on Korean Peninsula politics, nuclear weapons, regional arms and security. Our students were part of larger teams working to represent countries and international organizations seeking to obtain very specific outcomes. The main purpose was to teach students how this process works, and see how international actors navigate this complicated arena and underline how divergent goals make political movement forward challenging.
