Paying for college can be one of the most stressful things for a young student to face, especially when there are food, car payments, and rent to consider. Luckily, there are several opportunities for political-science majors to win scholarship funds throughout their various stages of studies.

Betty Rendel Scholarships – National Federation of Republican Women
– Applicants must be female undergraduates who are majoring in political science, government, or economics.
– Applicants must have completed at least two years of coursework.
– Three annual scholarships are awarded annually.
– Each scholarship provides $1000.

Perkins Coie Law Group 1L Scholarships
– This group has a handful of fellowships available for students seeking experience in the legal field.
– Scholarships are paired with a paid summer position, with the possibility of eventual full-time positions.
– The scholarship provides $15,000.

APSA Fund for Latino Scholarship
– Latino/a graduate students who seek to enter the profession of political science , or seek to study the field of political science may apply.
– The primary purpose of the grant is to cover cost expenses for the recipient to be able to travel to the annual American Political Science Association meeting.
– Grants can be awarded to programs or individuals who are proven to be involved in the successful recruitment of Latinos into the study of political science.
– Grants provide $500 $1000.

Future Graduate Students: Thomas R. Pickering Graduate Foreign Affairs Fellowships
– Applicants must be seeking admission to graduate school the following year.
– Applicants must have an undergraduate GPA of 3.2 or higher.
– Women and members of minority groups are encouraged to apply.
– The fellowships are paired with two summer internships at the Department of State and an overseas 
internship at a U.S. embassy or consulate.
– The fellowship provides an award of $37,500 annually.

Future Doctoral Students: APSA Minority Fellows Program
– Desired applicants are from underrepresented backgrounds applying for or in the beginning stages of a doctoral program in political science.
– Applicants must be members of racial/ethnic minority groups (African Americans, Asian Pacific Americans, Latinos/as, and Native Americans).
– The fellowship provides $4000.
