Happy New Year and new semester 2022!
We hope you and your family enjoyed a restful holiday season, and after the first few days of a new year, we hope your student has transitioned easily into this new semester.
If you are new to UNG and unfamiliar with the Parent & Family Association, allow me to take a moment to welcome you to UNG and introduce ourselves! The PFA is a volunteer, nonprofit organization of parent volunteers created several years ago by a group of dedicated parents seeking to build community among UNG families, volunteer time and efforts to various campus activities, and raise funds to support various needs within UNG.

Purchasing a membership in our organization helps provide funding for a number of programs, including Financial Aid, the Study Abroad Program, the Honors Program, and the Trunk Fund. Membership provides discounts to local (currently Dahlonega) area dining and accommodations. We have two Facebook groups – one for cadet parents, and one for non-cadet parents, where parents can ‘meet’ one another, share success stories, and reach out for advice from other “been there, done that” parents. Membership in the PFA is open to parents of students at ALL campuses, corps and civilian families alike.
As we look forward into 2022 and beyond, one of our goals this semester is to reach out to YOU. We want to review how we are currently serving the UNG parent and student populations and how we can get more parents to formally join and become involved in the PFA, especially civilian parents and parents from other campuses.
To that end, we will be surveying the current active membership. If you paid dues to the PFA, we will be emailing you a short survey to complete. Please return the survey to let us know how we can best serve you and your student.
