MEETINGS

The PFA Council meets regularly in the “PFA Council Facebook Group,” a closed group where items are brought up for discussion, voted on, committee reports are posted, and ideas are regularly passed around. It is a highly effective forum that allows each council member to “work from home.” Council members are expected to check the Facebook group at least a couple of times per week. All votes, committee reports and meeting minutes are posted on our website for member review.

The Parents and Family Association holds two general membership meetings per year, once in the fall during Family Day and once in the spring during Alumni Weekend. Click here for meeting agendas and minutes.

Speaking of spring, Alumni Weekend is a GREAT time to visit the Dahlonega campus. You’ll have an opportunity to hear the Patriot Choir, experience a Golden Eagle Band performance, see the Corps of Cadets in a Military Review along with the Blue Ridge Rifles, witness the emotionally moving Memorial Retreat, visit the Campus Connection bookstore plus connect with students, alumni, and parents from every corner of the campus. Many parents attended various events and open houses at Alumni Weekend in 2016, and our parent-photographers and videographers live-streamed in our closed Facebook groups. Plan a visit for Alumni Weekend 2017 or join one of our groups so you don’t miss it!

PFA leaders regularly post on the PFA Facebook page. This is the best place to find info about tuition deadlines, final exam schedules, upcoming events and photo albums.

In addition, the PFA maintains “closed” Facebook groups for parents of Cadets. To join the North Georgia Cadet Parents Facebook group, search for “North Georgia Cadet Parents” in Facebook, open the group, click JOIN GROUP, & then answer the questions.

Non-cadet parents can request to join the UNG Parents “closed” Facebook group to share information about residence halls, commuting, Dahlonega apartments, local attractions and more. Search for “UNG Parents” in Facebook, open the group, click JOIN GROUP, & then answer the questions.

If you’d like to serve on a Parents and Family Association committee, please let one of our council members know!
