Respondus LockDown Browser blocks access to most computer functions during an exam. It does not provide proctoring during an exam. LockDown Browser MUST be paired with Respondus Monitor to meet the proctored activity requirement of an online exam.

Respondus LockDown Browser with Respondus Monitor are used to verify the student’s identity, and record the student and computer screen activity during the exam.

Respondus Monitor provides fully automated proctoring that can be reviewed by the instructor.

Exams using Respondus Monitor require that the student’s computer must have a webcam (internal or external) and a microphone.
