New Cadets Join PSIA
As is the case every year the week before the start of the spring semester, incoming cadets experienced Freshmen Recruit Orientation Group (FROG) Week. Under the leadership of the brigade commander Cadet Col. Jacob Lyons, SSST ‘24 and battalion commander Cadet Lt. Col. Christian Brooks, pre-law, ‘24, the FROGS started their days before sunrise and ended with taps at 10 p.m. They took part in arduous physical activity and learned everything there is to know about being a cadet, from recognizing ranks to dorm-room standards.
New political science major Cadet Ian Shook explained, “FROG week was challenging, both mentally and physically, but I feel that it was a good introduction to the military way of life and to the Corps of Cadets as a whole. FROG week fostered both individual growth, as well as a growth in comradery between the new FROGs.”
