Highlights from the DETI calendar
NOTE: Electronic badges can be earned for the designated DETI workshops, webinars, and self-study courses. In some cases the workshops, webinars, and self-study courses are a part of course tracks that can receive a certificate after earning all of the badges from those courses.
Badges are generated and stored in eLearning@UNG under the users account. They can be viewed through the user’s profile under the “Awards Showcase” > “View My Awards” (a clickable link).
Teaching and Facilitating an Online Course – Webinar (Online Only)
November 5 @ 5:00 pm – 6:00 pm
This session will review the teaching and facilitating sections of the first two modules of the FLOC including best online teaching practices and dealing with the requirements for teaching an online course at UNG.
This session is intended for instructors who are currently teaching a fully online course (or will be in the next semester).

Setting Up Quizzes and Exams – Webinar (Online Only)

This webinar will cover the administrative aspects of setting up a quiz, exam, or test: scheduling, grading, and viewing of results. The adding and creation of questions for a quiz are covered in the course “Quizzes and Exams, Adding Questions.”

Using the Virtual Meeting Room in eLearning (D2L) – Webinar (Online Only)

Blackboard Collaborate Ultra is the virtual meeting room that is integrated into eLearning@UNG (D2L). It can be made a part of your eLearning course for a “live” (synchronous) class meetings or virtual office hours. This webinar will introduce Collaborate Ultra, show how to add it to your course offering, and demonstrate its features.

Introduction to Kaltura – Workshop (DAH)
November 12 @ 2:00 pm – 3:00 pm
Kaltura is a cloud-based video management application integrated within eLearning@UNG (D2L). It allows users to record, upload, publish, search, and share video and audio files directly from within their eLearning (D2L) courses. Please bring a laptop equipped with a camera and microphone as well as a headset if possible.
eLearning@UNG: Grading Administration – Webinar (Online Only)

This webinar will explain and demonstrate the administration of grading, including associating grade items with activities and assessments, student grade views, and releasing current and final grades.
