Top Hat is a bring-your-own-device system, which means that students can use any web-enabled device (laptops, tablets, smartphones) to participate. Top Hat also allows for text messaging to submit answers, so students can use older cell phones as well.

Top Hat is a student engagement system that allows instructors to take attendance, ask questions, take polls, give quizzes, and get feedback from students during class. It also offers course materials and affordable textbooks.

The University of North Georgia has partnered with Top Hat to provide the platform to UNG students at a discount. The platform is provided at no cost to faculty.

If an instructor decides to use the platform in their classroom, students will be required to pay a fee to access Top Hat. The fee covers all UNG classes that use Top Hat.
