Online Course Evaluations

The Online Course Evaluation Rubric is UNG’s tool to ensure that our online students’ needs are being met in quality online courses.

The Online Course Evaluation rubric is used to ensure that the delivery of an online course meets quality criteria.

This tool works in tandem with the Quality Matters (QM) review [LINK] which focuses on how a course is designed.

The assessment of online courses in terms of how they are delivered, as opposed to course design, can be used as both a peer review & summative tool.

Our ultimate goal is that the tool will serve as a valuable professional development resource. In collaboration with departments offering online courses, this online evaluation tool, ensures community building and promotion of learning interactions, to include instructor presence and student-to-student interactions.

The evaluation rubric will examine the facilitation of discussion threads (instructor presence), as well as feedback and use of the grade book.
