Eight UNG students, including two students of Spanish, win Gilman International Scholarship
Of the eight UNG students who recently won the prestigious Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarship, two planned to use those funds toward their study abroad opportunity in Cusco, Peru.
Biology majors Haley and Hannah Menees aspire to improve their Spanish language skills, as they both plan on pursuing careers in the medical field. Both were selected to live with a Peruvian host family for six weeks through the “Summer in Peru” program, spearheaded by the Department of Spanish and Portuguese.
We at UNG applaud their success and wish them all the very best. Students interested in soliciting competitive scholarships can find out more information by emailing ncs@ung.edu. Those interested in study abroad opportunities may consult the Center for Global Engagement.
