In recognition of her teaching, scholarship, and service, the University of North Georgia (UNG) has announced the promotion and granting of tenure to professor of Arabic, Dr. Juman Al Bukhari, a faculty member in the Department of Modern and Classical Languages. Her promotion to Associate Professor will take effect at the beginning of the 2021-2022 academic year.

For tenure and promotion, faculty members are evaluated in three areas: superior teaching; professional development, scholarship and academic achievement; and outstanding service to the institution, profession, or community. Tenure-track faculty members must make strong, positive cases in the application for promotion, which requires a minimum number of years of service for each promotion level.
