The water was up a foot and a half to two feet this morning from yesterday, no doubt due to yesterday’s rain. The velocity was proportionally fast, as well, which made paddling a bit of a challenge. It got really challenging when I reached Wetumpka. The current here was running faster than I could paddle in some spots. I was able to maneuver to areas with slightly less current, but it was tough.
I am staying at Coosa Outdoor Center as guest of the owners, Lonnie and Karen. These are incredibly generous people, and they run a fine outdoor adventure store and rental shop. They handle hiking and paddling gear and run paddling and skiing trips. Nice people and a nice shop.
