I was really tired when I wrote my blog post last night, so I wanted to elaborate a little on what a wonderful experience it was to camp at Six Mile Creek State Park. The Park is closed for the winter, but the organization, Alabama Scenic River Trails has worked with government agencies and private landowners to make camping available to canoe and kayak travelers. They have nice signs encouraging campers to pick up and leave a site better than you found it, a really great idea. Alabama is way out in front of Georgia on this.

I had the place all to myself, yet the power and water was on and the bathroom was heated.

Some trash I picked up, in keeping with the spirit of the ASRT sign. Only one trash can in the area had a liner, so I put the trash there.
