On April 26, the Politically Incorrect Club hosted an educational event on the University of North Georgia’s Gainesville campus. State Sen. Butch Miller spoke to students and members of the faculty and staff on several topics such as formative influences, the importance of serving others, how he first got elected in 2010, and how legislation actually gets passed. Sen. Miller also spent an hour with students taking a variety of questions afterwards.

Dr. Douglas Young, the club’s faculty advisor, noted, “Sen. Miller is the governor’s top Senate floor leader and such an outstanding statesman, not only for his principled legislative leadership, but also for his willingness to speak to students on campus.”

The club visited General James Longstreet-Piedmont Hotel Museum this past spring on April 12. The museum is run by The Longstreet Society that seeks to study and celebrate the life of Lt. General James Longstreet, CSA

The club travels to the Piedmont Hotel Museum three times a year.
