Mitchell Fariss and Darion Gibson, UNG international-affairs students, are two of the eight UNG students who were selected to be 2017-2018 Fulbright scholars. The Fulbright Program seeks to increase mutual understanding between the people of the United States and the people of other countries. This program sponsors students to study abroad and includes an English teaching- assistant position.

Darion is serving in South Korea as an English teaching assistant.

Mitchell enthusiastically reports that he is settling into his new home in Germany and has completed his training to begin as a teaching assistant in German schools. Mitchell will be teaching in Germany for 10 months. Mitchell wishes the upcoming Fulbright candidates the best of luck and encourages others to pursue the incredible experience that Fulbright has to offer.
