“Smoke bellowed from the crater as the object within throbbed and glowed a greenish light.”

Smoke bellowed from the crater as the object within throbbed and glowed a greenish light. The smoke plumed around the object when it began to dissipate and become clear. A cragged stone, tattooed with the squiggles and graffiti of some language unknown to humanity, projected its light through those letters. When I slid down the side of the crater, the stone cracked open and a humanoid shape spilled out the other side, while the light from the stone emitted one last gasp before fading away. Darkness enveloped me. All I knew was that I wasn’t alone anymore.
