“It was on that night that I ran faster than I ever had before.”

It was on that night that I ran faster than I ever had before. I saw the man behind me increasing his pace as we dashed down a back alley in New York. I had no idea why he was chasing me, but he continued to follow. I ran faster and faster and he continued to keep up. I darted around a corner with hopes I could hide. He quickly approached and I closed my eyes to brace for what might happen next. I heard him say, “I think you dropped your wallet a few blocks back, and I wanted to get it back to you.” I began laughing violently with embarrassment, as I was listening to music with my Airpods and didn’t hear him yelling for my attention before the great chase.
