We all have blind spots; we all get stuck sometimes; we all need help occasionally. I have been helping individuals, families, and groups as a counselor for over 25 years. It has always been my desire to help people develop new perspectives about their lives so that they may feel empowered to make positive changes. I believe that the most growth occurs in counseling when the counselor and client share a confidential, professional relationship based on genuineness, compassion, unconditional positive regard, and trust.

My educational and vocational background clearly outline a solid path toward my orientation of lifelong learner and counselor. I have Masters and Educational Specialist degrees in Counseling from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. I also earned a PhD in Counseling and Counselor Education from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. UNCG is consistently one of the top 5 Counselor Education programs in the United States. I am a National Certified Counselor and am licensed to practice counseling in the state of Georgia, and I am certified to supervisor practicing counselors while they are pursing licensure.
