‘Flag’ UNG Students Who May Need Help

Note: DETI Early Alert Report merged with UNG Academic Alert.

Look the Academic Alert link in the Student Success Alert widget in eLearning@UNG (D2L). The form is used to report students needing academic assistance.

DETI’s Online Student Success Early Alert system has merged with the institution-wide Academic Alert. The new form is used for reporting students needing academic assistance.

Use the DETI Early Alert Report before the withdrawal period to “flag” students needing help in your fully online course at UNG.

Our Early Alert system enables your online student success team to coach and collaborate with students to be successful in their online courses.

What is an DETI Early Alert Report?

  • The DETI Early Alert Report notifies our online success advisors that a student is “at risk.” Our team will reach out to the student with support to assist them in being successful.
  • Instructors are CC’d on communications and kept in the loop of options and solutions.

Why should I use the DETI Early Alert Report?

  • Early and direct interaction with struggling students is proven to be effective for encouraging students to improve, be persistent, and have a successful semester.
  • The alert system prompts our advisors to reach out to the students.
  • It is recommended that you use this form during the grading of your first activity and throughout the semester as you see students who may need coaching.

Let your student know you will be submitting them to the Early Alert system.

Who can benefit from the Early Alert?

The DETI Early Alert Report works best when used early!

  • Not logging in
  • Excessive absences
  • Needs tutoring
  • Needs writing assistance
  • Has low test and/or quiz scores
  • Not completing homework
  • Knowledge of personal or family difficulties (e.g., financial, death in the family, etc.)
