Tip: Close Your Web Browser

Is your web browser up to date? It’s set to automatically update, so it must be up to date, right? Not necessarily.

There could be an important browser update waiting for you right now. You may never know until a software application fails to work properly.

Sleep is good, but Close is better

It’s much more convenient to set your computer to “sleep.” The computer wakes up quickly. Browser pages are already opened to your favorite websites. Unfortunately, an open browser will prevent it from updating. Close (quit) the browser at least once a month. When the browser is opened, it will load the latest version when available.

You can also manually check for updates and load the latest version.

Firefox’s preferences section shows the browser is up to date.
