By Fletcher Varnson

The following poem was written as a reflection on the works of filmmaker Ingmar Bergman.

I

A moss-coated roof

Gray tiles darkened with wet

Must of an old house

II

Breath of strawberries

The stiffened, withered pages

Of an empty book

III

Glimmering snow sheet

The carpet of a faery

Beneath a black sky
