Long day

Posted by on January 12, 2013

Today: 30.7 miles
Trip: 1312.3

There was almost no current to deal with today, so I applied a lesson I learned on Logan Martin: When conditions are good for paddling, paddle! There was some sort of fishing contest going on today on Lake H. Neely Henry, so a couple of morons blew by in bass boats doing in the neighborhood of 90 mph in fog. I was really careful to display lights on my boat and stay out of the channel.

I found as well ,the only boats you ever really have to watch out for is Bass Boats. At least you can usually hear them coming for a little bit.Any other boats I ever came across on the lakes or river were always courtious and kept there distance or even slowed while passing me.You matched my longest mileage day,so far, going down river, with your paddling up river, so it does sound like you had a real good day.take care,Safe Paddling.
