The Mike Cottrell College of Business held its first-ever Day of Giving on March 1st. The day consisted of a 12-hour (8 AM – 8 PM) social media effort to generate financial and volunteer support for the Mike Cottrell College of Business at the University of North Georgia. It was hosted across the College’s social media channels (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Snapchat (ungmccb), and LinkedIn) and on the College’s blog.
During the event and the few days following, the College saw an impressive 2,600%+ increase in social media engagement and an almost 400% increase in media impressions. In addition, the College raised over $3,000 to support its programs.
Along with the College’s digital efforts, the College’s marketing and communications team spent the day on the Dahlonega campus filming sixteen live videos via Facebook highlighting various programs, students and faculty members. We published ten blog articles and generated new followers across all social media programs.
The money raised during the Day of Giving will be used to support programming for students in all disciplines that were featured throughout the day. In addition, to fiscal funding, the College is always seeking volunteers to help with experiential learning opportunities for students as well as internship placement.
