Student Profile: Joshua Profit

Joshua Profit is a senior marketing major at the University of North Georgia. During his time in DECA, a high school entrepreneurial club, Joshua realized his passion for creating value for consumers. He continued to develop his love for marketing at the University of North Georgia through his marketing courses and various professors. He credits his professors for teaching him important skills such as problem solving, time management, and interpersonal communication that he can carry into the workforce.

Joshua participates in a lot of extracurricular activities. He donates his time helping with The Make a Wish Foundation, is actively involved in the Student Athlete Advisory Committee, and is a key member of the UNG Baseball Team. Joshua was awarded 2015-16 Peach Belt Conference Presidential Honor Roll Bronze Scholar, UNG Campus Cash Nighthawk of the week, UNG Nighthawk Service Award, and twice named Peach Belt Conference Freshman of the week.

Trying to succeed academically while being an athlete is challenging. When asked how he balances both, Joshua said, “I schedule out all the tasks I need to accomplish for the day in order to stay ahead.” There are also a number of opportunities available for student-athletes to aid in academic success such as the writing center and tutoring services.

Joshua previously worked as an operator of machinery at a family and friends fun center. He is now interning as a sales and marketing associate for Philadelphia Insurance Company. Joshua is an entrepreneur and aspires to one day own his own company. He is very active on his social media. He creates inspirational videos called “Prof Tips.” When asked what he enjoys doing in his free time Joshua exclaimed, “I love to write plays and create music.” He encourages people to check out some of his work on his SoundCloud account.
